MDDc Youth Girls – 24/12 Win!
The team of 3 MDCC U14 girls plus one borrowed U16 JIF racing team member took on this years 12 hours Open female team relay, all the riders were new to this format and were excited and nervous about what was ahead.
The team gazebo was erected and pit crews ready the girls had a good start with Grace taking on the longer fist lap, team tactics were crucial and the plan was to ride fast and take a lap off all of the teams.
After 5 hours of fast racing they were a lap up with the other local team War Vena their closest rivals a full lap behind , Anna produced some quick lap times to consolidate their position and Molly managed to finish the race with a gashed leg, a trip to A & E was needed but after the racing was done of course!
The girls managed 23 laps between them and took the win for their category which they were really pleased with.
The whole team enjoyed the event, it was nice to have members on course from Mid Devon at the same time racing in different categories all encouraging each other.
