Women
As a club, we are committed to ‘Closing the Gap’ between the amount of women and men cycling, at all levels. We provide opportunities, coaching and a supportive environment to our female members from the absolute beginner cyclist right through to racing.
We run female specific coaching sessions, and our women’s race team members compete in road races, circuit races, cyclocross races, mountain bike races and Time Trials. A strong emphasis is placed on inclusivity and support as well as rider development.
By providing coaching and support, we hope to encourage more women to participate in the competitive side of cycling, in whatever discipline they choose.
We are proud supporters of Torbay Council’s ‘Pedal’ Programme for Women, which provides Free training from ‘Learn to Ride’ to ‘How to ride on the Road’ and Gentle Group Riding. For more information on their courses and how to book please go to www.torbay.gov.uk/cycling
For women, who are beginning to gain their confidence on a bike, our weekly Sunday Social rides are an ideal introduction to the club. These rides are very supportive and club members are always happy to give advice to new riders. Women normally make up more than 50% of the riders. For more information on these and other rides, click on the club runs tab.
