Master and the apprentice

Andrew Perkins used his experience and knowledge to help experienced youth rider Callum Start to step up for his 1st senior race at the Cycle Sport South Hams Circuit Races at Torbay’s Velopark.

To comply with the current covid guidelines the event consisted of three 15 minute races – scratch, points and pursuit.

The new format proved popular with new riders wanting to try out racing aswell as providing a new challenge for existing riders Perkins used his strong form and experience to good effect winning the first events with Callum Start coming in first in the points race. Final positions from all 3 racing Perkins came in 2nd and Callum Start 4th.

Other MDCC riders Harry Jukes and Julian Pittocco flew the flag for the club in the Elite races with Rob Woodger, Guy Redfern and Georgie Savva riding the 4th category.

There will be more racing coming up at the velopark on 3rd October for all groups from age 6 upwards.  Please see link below
